As part of our continued collaboration with Mix 92.6, Paul Jenkins, Secondary Effectiveness Adviser, appears for the second time on The Parents’ Show to provide more practical advice on supporting teenagers through GCSE and A level revision.

The interview focuses on how parents can help young people revise effectively while protecting their emotional wellbeing and avoiding unnecessary pressure.

Paul explains that calm, non‑overbearing parental support makes a meaningful difference during exam periods. He encourages parents to listen carefully to teenagers’ concerns, understand stress responses, and avoid projecting their own expectations onto outcomes. The discussion reinforces that while schools and resources play an important role, students ultimately need to take responsibility for their own revision.

The interview reassures parents that exams matter, but they are not the definitive measure of future success. By combining structure, encouragement and perspective, families can support young people to approach exam season with confidence.
