In Schools Week, Anne Peck, Education Director, Early Years & Primary, and Catherine Loake, Director of Business Services, consider how schools and local partners can respond to falling pupil numbers. Their article, ‘Falling rolls demand collaboration, not competition’, makes the case for collective stewardship and joined-up local planning, rather than schools being pushed into competition.
They explore the financial pressures created when pupil numbers fall but essential costs remain, and why sustainable solutions need schools, trusts, local authorities, dioceses and government to work together.
Lucky Khera, Lead Early Years Adviser, has also contributed to the latest issue of Teach Early Years, sharing her knowledge and practical insight with the early years community.
