The Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) professional dialogue visit is particularly suited to schools with teachers who are new to Early Years, as well as those who would benefit from a refresher with completing the EYFSP at the end of the Reception year.

The purpose of the visit is to support teachers in developing confidence in the accuracy and reliability of their assessment judgements.

How does the EYFSP professional dialogue session work?

This professional dialogue session includes a half-day, face-to-face visit and includes:

  • An opportunity for practitioners to develop a secure understanding of the EYFSP, including the application of the best-fit principle

  • Professional discussion with teachers and practitioners focused on what children know, understand, and can do

  • A review of current practices and systems to support a shared understanding of children’s strengths, interests, and next steps in learning

  • Reflective discussion on the use of summative assessment to support children at risk of underachievement, particularly those receiving additional funding

  • Professional dialogue with Early Years practitioners to build a shared understanding of children’s developmental stages

  • A detailed report highlighting strengths and identifying key areas for development

A half-day EYFSP professional dialogue visit can be arranged to support the validation and agreement of Early Years Foundation Stage Profile assessment judgements at the end of the Reception year.
