HFL Education is looking for a Tier 3 Professional Services Engineer to join our growing Technology in Schools team. This is a hybrid role combining technical project delivery, pre-sales consultancy, and technical service management - ideal for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and continuous learning.
What you'll bring
- Strong hands-on experience with LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation
- Expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Windows Server environments
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V), and backup/recovery solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a passion for new technologies
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
What you'll be doing
- Lead and deliver IT infrastructure projects across schools and educational settings
- Support the sales team with technical pre-sales input and solution design
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for the service desk and wider team
- Conduct site surveys, scope solutions, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Mentor the wider team and contribute to the development of technical standards
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and support internal systems when required
