01. Award nominations!
We are delighted to be finalists in the Education Today Overall Company of the Year Award 2025. Further to this, two of our programmes were finalists for the 2025 Teach Awards this year - ESSENTIALWRITING won in the Teach Primary: English category and ESSENTIALWRITING for Early Years was highly commended in the Teach Early Years: Communication, Language & Literacy category.
HFL also received the Teacher Tapp High Riser Award in September. We are very grateful for the nominations and accolades and will continue to support schools and help them to raise attainment, drive educational equity and improve the life chances for more children.
02. Free governance climate action planning briefing
Tuesday 20th January 2026 from 4:30-6:30pm
The DfE ‘Sustainability and climate change strategy’ supports all education settings with planning now and for the future to reduce the environmental footprint in their drive to achieve net zero. In this free briefing, three DfE Climate Ambassadors will join us to share the DfE’s vision, some ‘real life’ experiences and their impact. We will also hear from a representative of the ‘National Education Nature Park and Climate Action Awards’, all of which helps us to understand how a Climate Action Plan can support the work.

03. Ofsted support
As you will already be aware, Ofsted has published a new School Inspection Toolkit and Operating Guide for maintained schools and academies.
We are pleased to offer a selection of tailored training programmes for Early Years and Primary leaders plus dedicated training for SENCOs.
Our secondary team will be using established training, networks and consultancy visits to cascade the key messages around the new framework.

Our Primary English team have been busy refreshing our popular ESSENTIALSPELLING resources for Years 2-6 which are out now!
The new-look product includes additional resources, further exemplification
and graded dictations. ESSENTIALSPELLING can be used as a scheme for
spelling on its own or in conjunction with a school’s existing scheme.
